Twins 2, Yankees 0 (47-36)
It’s not too often that your offense picks up just three hits yet you still win the ball game but that’s what happened because of an outstanding outing by Frank Viola. He gave up just five hits and four walks with seven strikeouts in the complete game shutout.
Both of the Twins two runs were scored on a solo homeruns. Tom Brunansky hit his 17th homerun and Kent Hrbek blasted his 23rd.
