Indians 5, Twins 4 (76-67)
The Twins and Indians swapped leads a couple of times in the late innings but it was the Indians who came out on top after Juan Berenguer fell apart in the ninth. He gave up a pair of hits and both base runners scored in the ninth inning to turn a 4-3 lead into a 5-4 loss. It’s too bad because a pretty solid start by rookie Les Straker went to waste. He gave up three runs on six hits and one walk with four strikeouts in seven innings.
Gene Larkin went two for four with two RBIs. Kirby Puckett went two for four with a double, a run and an RBI.
