The Twins took care of the Orioles in their series opener behind a nice start by Les Straker. He gave up just one run on six hits and two walks with one strikeout in 7 1/3 innings. Jeff Reardon picked up save number 17 with 1 2/3 shutout innings.
The Twins had just six hits in the game but one of them was a big three run homer by Tim Laudner. Mark Davidson was the only Twin with two hits.
