Twins Blown Out By Red Sox To Kick Off September

Red Sox 9, Twins 0  (69-64)

The Twins were shutout on five hits in a blowout loss to the Red Sox.  Kirby Puckett was the only hitter with a pair of hits and he went two for four.

Joe Niekro was shelled and he fell to 6-11.  He gave up five runs on eight hits and two walks with one strikeout in four innings of work.
