The Twins jumped out to a quick 5-0 lead only to see it evaporate to a single run by the eighth inning. Randy Bush went two for three with a homerun and two RBIs. Ken Hrbek singled twice, walked twice and scored a run.
Les Straker improved to 7-9 with the win. He gave up two run on four hits and a walk with one strikeout in six solid frames. Jeff Reardon got the final five batters out and he picked up his 26th save of the season.
