July 27, 1987 at the Kingdome
Twins 4, Mariners 3  (55-46)

The Twins were shut out for eight innings but they made it all up in the ninth when they turned a 3-0 deficit into a 4-3 win.  Steve Lombardozzi belted a huge three run homer to tie the game up and then Gary Gaetti hit a walk off solo homerun to win it.  The lonag ball was Gaetti’s 20th of the season and for Lombardozzi, it was his fourth.

Frank Viola improved to 11-6 with the win.  He gave up three runs on six hits with seven strikeouts in eight innings of work.  Jeff Reardon got into trouble in the ninth but got out of it and he picked up his 21st save of the season.
