It’s funny how blogs start sometime. I’m sure most of you read the Hardball Times, and most Wednesday’s, they post a Business of Baseball Report by Brian Borawski. Earlier this year, one of the hot topics being covered was the Twins stadium bill and during that time, I began corresponding with Brian. That turned into a debate on his dislike for the Twins back in the late 1980s because of how the Twins dismantled the Tigers in the ALCS in 1987. I also began picking his brain about the 1984 Tigers diary he put together back in 2004 and at that point, I was slowly getting hooked.
In my mind, the Twins blogging community is one of the best and most established. From Aaron Gleeman to Seth Speaks to Bat Girl to the semi retired Twins Geek, you have some of the best bloggers out there all covering the same team. My goal is to do but a fraction of what they’ve done.
So what’s this site going to be about? First off is the Twins current race for a Wild Card spot. We’ll be looking at that pretty closely over the next couple of months. Then next season, I’m going to do a 1987 Twins diary in a similar caste that Tigerblog did for the 1984 season. I’m also going to be part of a secret project which I’m not allowed to divulge at this point in time. Let’s just say if you were teenager in the late 1960s, you’re really going to enjoy it.
I put up some links to the Twins’ sites I frequent. If your site isn’t up there, it’s not a snub, I just don’t know who you are yet so feel free to drop me a line for a link exchange.
Go Twins.
